Mini golf inside the Worcester Public Library? Thanks to Mountain Dearborn’s longstanding commitment to supporting the Worcester community, on May 20 and 21, the first floor of the Worcester Public Library (WPL) was transformed into a mini golf course to help raise funds for the Worcester Public Library Foundation at the first-ever “Tee Off for WPL! Mini Golf.” During Friday evening’s “Mini Golf After Dark” and Saturday’s “Family Fun Day,” participants had a chance to sink their putts via a winding course past bookshelves and photos of Mountain Dearborn lawyers. More than 200 people took part in the Friday evening fundraising event.
The Worcester Public Library Foundation was established in 2003 by local individuals to help raise public and private support for the Worcester Public Library. Managing Partner Katherine A. Bagdis served six years as a Foundation Trustee and is now a Trustee on the WPL Board; Attorney Nina T. Dow is a Foundation Trustee. They join many other individuals and local entities in helping to sustain the WPL as a place to learn and access a variety of resources that enhance Worcester’s diverse community.
