Mountain, Dearborn & Whiting LLP will sponsor the 23rd Annual Nick Manzello-Ronald “Sonny” Stultz Friendly House Galaxy of Stars banquet at the Manor Restaurant in West Boylston at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017.
The Galaxy is Friendly House’s signature event to raise funds for their Youth, Teen and Family Programming, Christmas presents and their Annual Children’s Christmas Party. The event also honors local community leaders who exemplify Friendly House’s mission and reflect the generosity of the Galaxy founder, Nick Manzello, and Friendly House champion Ronald “Sonny” Stulz.

Mountain, Dearborn & Whiting LLP will sponsor the 12th Annual Spring Auction to benefit the Nativity School of Worcester, on Friday, March 31, 2017. The Auction will be hosted at the Nativity School, 67 Lincoln Street, Worcester, from 5:30-8:00 p.m.
All proceeds will support the Nativity School, which provides students from low-income homes the opportunity to achieve academic excellence. In existence for 12 years, the School has fostered students’ success and enabled them to gain admission to top-notch high school and college programs.

What better day than Halloween to sell treats and sweets for a good cause? For many office workers in the Guaranty Building, a special bake sale organized by Mountain, Dearborn & Whiting LLP staff to raise funds for breast cancer research was a welcome midday surprise on October 31.
Our own Barbara Burtt, administrative legal assistant, coordinated a team of MDW bakers, arranged for a table in the Guaranty Building lobby, and enlisted volunteers to staff the table, all “to make a difference in a simple yet important way.” Office staff from Guaranty Management contributed baked goods, as well.
Barbara was inspired by a news story on WCVB-TV about office bake sales during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. ...
Mountain, Dearborn & Whiting LLP is proud to sponsor Celebrate 65 Years of Legal Aid in Worcester County, on Thursday, October 27. Congressman Jim McGovern will host the fundraiser at Tuckerman Hall, 10 Tuckerman Street, Worcester, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The evening will include music by The Annulments, surprise VIP guests, as well as a silent auction and live auction. All proceeds will support Community Legal Aid in Worcester County, which provides legal services to individuals who might otherwise not be able to afford an attorney for assistance with issues such as evictions, foreclosures, domestic violence, unfair consumer practices and access to disability benefits.

Attorney Katherine Bagdis, an associate at Mountain, Dearborn & Whiting LLP, has joined the Worcester Public Library Board of Directors. Her nomination to a three-year term was accepted by the Worcester City Council on June 21, 2016.
The Board of Directors is the Library’s governing body, overseeing hiring of the head librarian, setting library policies that ensure equal access to information and the free exchange of ideas, and overseeing management and maintenance, among other responsibilities.
Before joining the Board of Directors, Katie began serving on the Board of the Worcester Public Library Foundation Board, which is responsible for fundraising and for enhancing the public visibility of the Library.
